Jordan Love, the Packers’ quarterback, finished the preseason strong, eager to replace a four-time MVP. In his final series, Love threw a touchdown pass to Watson, securing a 19-15 win over the Seahawks in their last preseason game.

This game marked Love’s final preparation before starting his first full season as the Packers’ quarterback, following Aaron Rodgers’ trade to the New York Jets. Love, a 2020 first-round pick from Utah State, has one regular-season start under his belt.

Love said he wanted to feel comfortable on the field and play the same way he does in practice. He achieved that goal, without any nerves or differences in his performance.

Against a mostly reserve Seattle defense, Love completed 9 of 15 passes for 63 yards and ran for 21 yards on three carries. In three preseason starts for the Packers (2-1), he threw for 193 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, completing 21 of 33 passes.

Jordan Love, the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback, said he wasn’t caught off guard by anything and is focusing on taking things one day at a time. He aims to keep growing and not dwell on the past or future.

Love threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Watson, capping a 15-play, 80-yard drive. This came after he overthrew Watson on a deep pass earlier in the series. The Packers made a field goal and went three-and-out in Love’s other two drives.

Love Leads Packers to Victory in Preseason Finale

The Packers hope Love can replicate the impact Geno Smith had last season when he led the Seahawks to a surprise playoff berth after trading Russell Wilson to the Broncos. The Seahawks rested Smith and most starters, giving backup quarterback Drew Lock the chance to lead their offense.

Lock started 21 games for the Broncos from 2019-21 but didn’t play last season. He completed 16 of 25 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown on Saturday.

Lock said he’s confident in his abilities as a quarterback and is excited about how the preseason went. He feels ready for anything that may happen this season.

Lock threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jake Bobo, an undrafted rookie from UCLA. Bobo’s impressive preseason could earn him a spot on Seattle’s roster.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll praised Lock, saying he’s done everything asked of him. Lock has blocked well, played with effort, and made big plays.

Lock led a 10-play, 89-yard drive, ending with SaRodorick Thompson’s 1-yard touchdown run. This gave the Seahawks their first lead with 6:38 left.

Green Bay regained the lead for good on Nate McCrary’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:56 remaining. This came after a 52-yard completion from Alex McGough to Jadakis Bonds.

Benny Sapp secured the win by intercepting Holton Ahlers’ pass in the end zone with 13 seconds left.

McGough was the Packers’ third quarterback. Sean Clifford, a rookie fifth-round pick from Penn State, completed 8 of 12 passes for 46 yards.

Packers rookie kicker Anders Carlson made two field goals and had an extra-point attempt blocked. Carlson was drafted in the sixth round to replace Mason Crosby, the franchise’s career scoring leader.

INJURIES

“During the game, several players sustained injuries. Seahawks LB Devin Bush suffered a concussion, while S Joey Blount and OLB Derick Hall both had shoulder injuries. On the Packers’ side, WR Romeo Doubs missed the game due to a hamstring injury and LB De’Vondre Campbell was out with an ankle injury.
