Ankit Baiyanpuria: The Fitness Influencer Making a Difference
Former desi wrestler Ankit Baiyanpuria, hailing from Bayanpur, Sonipat, has risen to fame as a fitness influencer, promoting traditional and indigenous workout methods. Ankit’s journey to prominence is a story of determination and resilience.
From Wrestling to Fitness
Ankit’s path to fitness stardom took a turn in 2022 when a dislocated shoulder during his wrestling days forced him to reevaluate his career. He turned to Instagram to share his fitness journey and quickly gained a massive following. With over 4.9 million followers on Instagram, he became a sensation in a short period.
The ’75 Hard Challenge’
Ankit’s claim to fame was his launch of the challenging ’75 Hard Challenge.’ This regimen required participants to document their progress through selfies, maintain a strict diet, stay hydrated, and engage in daily readings, all while incorporating outdoor workouts. Ankit’s unique greeting, ‘Ram Ram sarya ne,’ resonated with his Instagram audience and deepened their connection.
A Transition Fueled by Lockdown
The COVID-19 lockdown played a pivotal role in Ankit’s transformation from a content creator dabbling in Haryanvi comedy on YouTube to a fitness influencer. Three significant injuries during his wrestling career propelled him to leave the sport behind and delve into fitness.
Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign
On a separate note, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness in the nation. Ankit Baiyanpuria joined him in the ‘Shramdaan for Cleanliness’ program as part of this campaign. They combined fitness and well-being with cleanliness, highlighting the connection between a clean environment and personal health.
National Cleanliness Drive
Leaders from across the country, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Chief JP Nadda, and several Union ministers and MPs, actively participated in the cleanliness drive under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined the campaign in Sitapur, while UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary took part in a cleanliness drive under the ‘Garbage Free India – Clean India’ campaign.
Mann ki Baat Call to Action
Prime Minister Modi had called upon the citizens of India during his 105th episode of Mann ki Baat to participate in the cleanliness campaign. He encouraged people to contribute their efforts towards cleanliness in their neighborhoods, parks, rivers, lakes, and public places.
‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ Campaign
The ‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ campaign marked a mega cleanliness drive in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. This initiative serves as a precursor to the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada- Swachhata Hi Seva’ 2023 campaign. It aligns with PM Modi’s appeal for one hour of ‘Shramdaan for swachhata’ at 10 a.m. on October 1st, involving all citizens in a collective effort towards a cleaner India.
