Back in 2020, Disney made headlines by announcing two separate Pirates of the Caribbean movies in the works. One was set to be a reboot led by Margot Robbie, offering a fresh perspective on the franchise. Fortunately, producer Jerry Bruckheimer later clarified that Margot Robbie’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie was still in Disney’s plans, but they were giving priority to the script crafted by Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott.
